Refunds & Returns

Our refund policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, we can’t offer you any refund or replacement.

Replacement of damaged games

While we take care to package all orders carefully, damage can unfortunately occur during the shipment of games. Please email us immediately if you have received a damaged game, including:

  • a clear picture of the damaged game
  • a clear picture of any associated damage on the delivery packaging

We will replace or refund games damaged during shipment. Instructions on how to return the damaged item to Blue Herring Games will be provided to you via email. If possible, please keep the delivery satchel or other packaging materials - these may be useful in repacking and returning the damaged item to us.


Refunds

If there is any problem with your order, please email us immediately with a detailed description of the issue so we can look for a speedy resolution.

  • Unopened games, still in the original shrink-wrap, can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. Let us know by email of your intention to return the game, and we will provide the relevant mailing details. Shipping cost to return the item is at customer's expense.
  • Return of an opened game is... more difficult. What guarantees can we ever place on what is largely a social experience? Was it a bad game, or just a bad game for your group on that particular night? Regardless of the circumstances, you are left with a game you don't want to play again which is no good for any of us! We have set up Blue Herring Games as a way of profiling the very best games that the hobby has to offer, and we are confident that you will get years of enjoyment out of your purchase. However, if you have an opened game in otherwise perfect condition (i.e. played a couple of times; all pieces intact; no food and drink stains...) we will be happy to refund 60% of the sale price if returned to us within 30 days. Contact us by email as soon as possible if you want to take up this offer. Games showing ANY wear or damage are not refundable under any circumstances. Shipping cost to return the item is at customer's expense.

Pre-orders

A 90% refund will be provided on any pre-orders cancelled before the game has shipped.


Return process

Always email us as the first step in resolving any issue.

  • We will get back to you via phone or email with further instructions. We will also send you a confirmation email of the outcome once your item has been returned and inspected.
  • Assuming the refunded item meets the above criteria, then your refund will be processed and the full or partial credit will be made using the original method of payment.
  • Once a refund had been agreed to, it may take several days for the money to show on your bank or credit card statement.
  • You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. You may wish to consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance: we cannot guarantee or take any responsibility for return items that are lost or damaged.
